The best way to keyword research is see what your competitors rank for with thin content and weak domains and as I know ahref is best for this.

Google planer Ahref Semrus those all are good. Now it’s time to how you can use them. I am using these tools since 7 years and semrus give you exact data.
 
You may try Semrush or Keyword planner for prominent keyword results.
 
We use Ahrefs, Keywords Everywhere, KeySearch, SEMrush and at least 6 others.

Try Semrush, Ahrefs Keywords Explorer and Google Keyword Planner.
These are user-friendly and are similar to use the one and the other.
 
Semrush does work pretty well,
You don't really need any other tool unless you're digging for more data/long tails
 
Semrush, Ahref and Google Keyword Planner are good tool.
