Hello!

I'll soon be starting a forum. (yeah, I know that ship has sailed).

I need transactional email, to be able to send members their notifications, password reminders and such.
I see there are many options available - but which is the best?

Like reliable, DKIM, SPF and general good deliverance of sent mail.
Which has the highest free tier?
I don't think I need that many daily, but also want members to be able to get email for the events they choose, so it can perhaps become quite a lot in the future.

I'm thankful for any advice from people that have already done the research :)

You can go with Mailjet or sparkpost.

Good Luck :)

Thank you for your recommendations!

Do you know how many transactional mails can be sent with Sparkpost, for free?
Couldn't find it on their website, only specs for the costly ones.

Mailjet 6k/month (200 per day) should be sufficient, but i'll wait for more recommendations first :)

I've imagined that Amazon SES is difficult to handle/setup. Perhaps I'm wrong?

Definitely worth further investigating!
not that difficult, you just choose a region, verify your domain and setup DKIM. Take note your domain will be sandboxed at first, sending rate will be limited but just need to put in a request for them to lift it. Transactional mails are easy to get approval.
