Kaspersky.. dont have problem with it. One of my best AV.

wow this thread really shouldv had a poll

anyway, take this from someone who does PPI, kaspersky wins hands down, 2nd place is nod and as much as i hate to admit it, avg

Nod32 to is the best dame antivirus today. It is better than any other anitvirus, because it detection % is unmatched and it is also very light.

i have been using for about 4 years now the symantec corporate version, it uses like no resources at all and i have never had a problem...

if anybody needs let me know

NOD32 + cr4ck torrent: hxxp://www.mininova.org/tor/1252509

Once cr4cked, it won't expire for 45,795 years lol

Updates every hour on the hour :D

i have actually used similar if not what you have on one of my computers, and came up with a long list of problems that it missed with it... as i have and am seen around some of the most shady areas of the net and it has kept my ass out of trouble more than once

so i wouldnt laugh just quite yet if i were you...

this symantec isnt the normal norton crap thats around, as i have used norton and it is pretty lousy in my opinion...

Norton iself is a virus, thats the secret nobody is telling you, Mcafee sucks as well. I use CA and I like it alot, but with all the discussion on AVG I might have to look into that

I prefer the Macintosh platform and so don't have problems with viruses on my 4 x Mac machines although they are protected with Norton just in case, however, I also use the Windows platform on the fifth computer and was told Norton would slow down my machine running Windows so I use several trojan/spyware catchers together with AVG. I actually removed ZoneAlarm as it let in spyware which I am still trying to remove and have failed to do even manually. Looks like a clean install is necessary. Have heard good things about Kaspersky. For me, best virus protection is work on a Mac. In almost twenty years I have NEVER had a problem with a virus on a Mac.

Tried Norton That sucks ass.
Tried Mcafee. Thats not bad.
Tried AVG and thats pretty good.
Tried avast and thats pretty good.
Generally though i run a good firewall nice and tight, avg free cause its free and spybot for same reason. Also i run ewido anti-malware to clear up some of the crap the others dont.

But after reading this thread im going to give NOD a try.

Generally these days its cracked gear or free. I have had enough of paying for av gear.
Who knows these companys prob create 1/2 the viruses to keep themselves in business. Maby not but i aint going to give them another cent of mine either way.

I had bitdefender for a while, but my bootleg liscense ran out. It seemed pretty decent, but I'm going to try Essentials suggestion.

Thanks bro.

By the way essential it's good the license won't run out for another 100+ years because I'm going to be living a lot longer than that!

Norton sucks. I've been with avast for many years without a problem. :)

Started using NOD yesterday. It's pretty nice, it's a ton less intensive than my old AV.

Not bad, even detected a few things the other one couldn't find.

I have run a pc repair business in the UK for over 8 years now and I have tried and tested many solutions in this time.

1st thing - "Uninstall Norton" - the worst piece of software ive ever come into contact with (The problem is obviously a blessing in disguise as people ring for the "my pc's very slow" type enquiries.)

I usually have to uninstall this for them as it leaves footprints and code all over the registry (not a bad now as it was but still not good enough).

You may be interested to know Peter Norton (Norton's main man funnily enough) wrote a computer book in the 80's which was about how computers work - unfortunatley it was complete bullshit! - nothing has changed IMO

Back on track

I've installed AVG Free on 100's of pc's since it came out and only a handful have come back to me with any problems (the main problem was when they came out with V7.5 which needed a reinstall)

My current AV of choice which i use on our servers and home machines is again NOD32from eset. It can be a little cumbersome to start with but you'll forget its there with a bit of tweaking + its very effective

Antispyware is a whole other ball game :)

I may write another post on all my other software favorites used for "cleaning and leaning" pc's if anyone is interested

Just my 20 pennies worth
