Which is preferred AntiVirus?

My kaspesky license just expired and I am wondering if I should renew it or try a new (better) antivirus. I tried a few websites to know which was the best antivirus (the one that keeps its databases up-to-date and really does protect the pc) but, it seems like all reviews are biased.

So, which is your fav antivirus and WHY?

Kaspersky and Eset NOD32 are among the best.

I use kaspersky paid and I am totally happy with it. No need to update manually and no pressure on your RAM/CPU either..

AVASt is best for me... I use past 4 years onwards.. Recommend to all

They are all the same really. Top ones are bitdefender/norton/kaspersky/nod32

right now most say bitdefender is on top. Bitdefender just released their 2015 version.. I keep hearing kaspersky is a resource hog but good. They are all good. None of them are really the best anymore

But in all seriousness the times I have ran antivirus haven't protected me, I got that bitcoin mining virus back in Jan, I wasn't running AV but I gave my copy to my dad who got the exact same Virus back in the UK (he's a heavy yahoo user, not sure how I got it) Thinking about wiping my Laptop and giving Windows 8.1 a try.
