Which is most important part in SEO?

Which is most important part in SEO? On Page optimization or off page optimization.

Both of them goes hand in hand.

Please learn both and don't side with just 1 aspect.

I would say backlinks are more important because they can rank a non-optimized page easier than an optimized page can rank on its own (Assuming there is some level of competition). But truthfully speaking you may as well consider it 50/50 because doing both gives you a far better chance of ranking than doing one or the other.

Ofcourse both ON page and Off page is important in SEO. Before start off page work you have to fix all On page errors then only your backlinks are more helps to your site.

What's the point of this question? If you want to understand what to do at first, you definitely should start with on-page, and when your technical part is ready it's time to do some off-page. You can do them both at the same time, you can do only a certain part of them. It's like asking what's more important to promote your cafe or to make it good looking for both visitors and fire safety authority. You need both.

I see rubbish websites loading in 9-14 seconds with a lot of bugs ranking for heavy keywords; backlinks are most important in my opinion.

Age it`s a new big factor as well.

I've seen many quality threads from you. And I have very little post account right now because I've been mostly employed somewhere else during these years... but anyways, how many sites are you trying to rank right now? And how fast and how good are your results with link building? How old are your sites?

PS. I will definately share some methods and perhaps start journeys as I go along in future. I was so long away that my account and registration date is pretty funny. But I was away and now I'm ready to rock and roll.

Just one website, I don`t like the idea Google can fuck me anything with any update or stuff. I have this new website for two months, and I am on page 2 for a few keywords, but nothing fancy. The first website I leave it to die and rebrand it in an ecom one.

I think the whole idea of this stuff called SEO is: Patience, natural way looking and again a lot of patience. It`s perfect as a part-time stuff hobby for me.

I have no idea about SEO, but I know more than loads of experts and gurus around and I don`t mind shared them.

Both are important but on page is very important and keyword research

Why are you looking at it as two different things. SEO is SEO. It's a bit like asking which is more important, your hand or your elbow.

ON page or OFF page both have their own importance in their own aspects. However the results depend on how you put efforts in both of them. Answer to your question is off-page tasks are more likely to help faster to rank the particular keyword of website. In fact I'll suggest to put your efforts in both to get results faster.

I'm sharing here a bit of my knowledge about definitions & the roles of both On-Page Optimization & Off-Page Optimization-

1. On-page Optimization- On-page optimization is customized settings to be applied on website to optimize search engine. These settings contains optimization of titles, descriptions, using proper URL structures, make user-friendly navigation.

Some factors to follow while doing On-page Optimization are:-

A. Enriching Fresh and Exciting Content in Website- There should be enough and balanced content need to be added in website. Balanced content will meet both great information and required keyword density.

B. Adding Relevant Meta titles, description, h1 tags and Image ALT-tags in Website.

C. Elimination of All Broken/Dead Links- Broken/404 error/dead links can be harmful in two major ways:-

• Harmful in overall SEO Score.
• Creation of Bad experience to all users of website.

D. XML Sitemap- XML Sitemap in website provides the search engines an interface for site architecture. So it is also a proven major element of on-page optimization.

E. Robots.txt- This file helps to avoid any unwanted crawls from search engines.

F. Canonicalization- Canonicalization is the process of picking the best URL when there are several choices, and it usually refers to home pages.

Role of On-Page Optimization in SEO-

• Helps to eliminate technical issues from website.
• Helps in matching the content relevancy.
• Helps to showcase genuine content to the users of website.
• Helps to make website both user & bot friendly.
• Helps to understand the competition market.

2. Off-page Optimization- Off-page is the main and general activity which needs to be followed on daily basis to maintain rank of particular website in search engines SERPs. Off-page contains the tasks of link building, strategy of link building with link pyramid and little bit social media engagement.

Off-page is the only factor of maintaining page rank in search engine and these factors are off-site in that they are not controlled by you or the coding on your page. It includes only page rank and link popularity.

Role of Off-Page Optimization in SEO-

• Helps to expose business or promoting brand name.
• Helps to rank higher in search engine.
• Helps to attract users and generate more traffic.
• Helps to analyse link building strategies.
• Helps to promote or market business's services.

The title is a search term found via semrush.

Obvious question with thousands of similar threads here which would easily answer it, but a variation of the title so it gets found in search for the question.

You cant say right? Thats the way seo is. Off seo and on seo are like two eyes, they have their own importance.

Backlinks have the most effect.

But if you send people to a page of shit, what was the point in all that work?

Don't forget content needs to actually appeal.

Google itself states for ranking both should be optimized. From my own experience. I’d agree.

I would say backlinks because I seen garbage sites with a few words made only in html without any on page seo, without any responsive code ranking better than competition for high competitive keywords. It's simply math so backlinks can outrank but the key is actually backlinks + valuable content + onpage seo.

Both are equally important to rank your site.
