Changing Niche of already monetised channel vs Starting new channel from start ?

I have a channel that was monetised but the niche was very bad and I quit, I tried several other videos on the channel but never gave enough time and was hesitant to change the niche, Now it's either abandon that channel or refurb it.

I wonder if any of you changed the channel niche after 50k subs and growth but no earnings, Is it better or easier to launch a new channel ?

also, a side question, Is it still mobile only in tiktok ? or do they support desktop nowadays, I remember that desktop videos was flop back in the day, Is it still the same or did they expand their support for desktop usage ?

For changing niche you would need to make really, really strong re-warmup for new keywords.
Sometimes it works, sometimes not.
In most situations the best is to make new

I'd refurb the monetized channel, way easier than starting fresh. Just unlist the old vids, lock in your new niche, and drop 5, 10 test videos to see how it flows

Considering it has 50k subs, if I was you, I will switch the niche, but then I would also improve on the content that is uploaded or rather content that is published.

Changing niche is not a good way. If you change niche, TikTok will not be able to label your channel and distribute it to users. If you still want to keep the channel, you have to warm up the keyword as well as the channel. After a while, hide the old videos. I still prioritize creating a new channel for the new niche. If you have grown the old channel to 50k subs, I think you already have experience and should take advantage of that experience for this channel.

TikTok still works on desktop. My clients still maintain multiple TikTok accounts on antidetect browser profiles (add residential proxy to these profiles) and videos still go viral. Of course tiktok still prioritizes mobile but that doesn't mean tiktok browser doesn't work

It's often better to start fresh with a new channel to build a targeted audience, and TikTok now supports desktop but mobile remains the primary platform.

You could remove your old content and start to promote your new videos. However, if your new niche is completely different, starting a fresh channel might be better.
