It depends on the type of followers you have. If many of them are also looking to sell their products, do not expect something big. It is always better to have followers who are not into IM
I dont think its possible, Also any of the 4 are good networks to monetize on you've just got to know what your doing on them, On any of them if your first plan fails try try try again, Thats all you can do with IM'ing, Im currently on the same road as you in this market... Think so far ive made about $50 or so lol, Hardly a retirement fund

There is no straight answer to your question as each social network has their own specific. For example on pinterest women are more present than man. Same goes for each niche.
You will have to test your niche and see how it goes with each network. Your skills matter as well. You may interact well with tumblr people, but you may be not that good with pinterest people.

That would really all depend on you and your skills with social media, and the offers & methods you use to promote them. Most people are better at one thing than another, so it would all depend on you. I know people that are making good money from social sites that aren't even on the radar of most marketers. It really all depends on you, the skills you have, and the methods you use and their effectiveness.

each to its own like others said above, for me it is or was instagram, user engagement is better than anywhere, better than on facebook, if you manage to keep your accs alive, ig still can be king
with that said, not always the biggest/most popular networks are the best, because it's true that those have the most traffic, but most of the time those have the strictest security too, so you can easily end up making more money on a lesser known site with less security/easier acc managing

Twitte and FB are fine for making money through adsense, but it do'es mean you totally depend upon these sites, use other sources too or Google will disable your account!
