Which is better - Ahrefs or Semrush?

Hi guys,

I am interested in trying a paid subscription to an SEO software, especially for keyword research, link building, and analyzing what my competitors are doing.

I saw that Ahrefs and Semrush offer similar plans at the same price - $129 ("Lite" plan on Ahrefs and "Pro" plan on Semrush).

In your opinion, which plan would better suit me? Are there any other companies that offer a similar service and have the same amount of data as these companies?

They are very close.

I personally use Ahrefs so gonna vouch for that but I heard many good things about SEMrush too. I use free daily credits there as well.

One thing I have noticed is that Ahrefs is much more strict with backlink reports.

It will show you less links and crawls them more often so I find the reports more accurate.

I compared a few link profiles and SEMrush reported many dead links as alive.

But like I said, I only use free plan, maybe it can be filtered better in paid one.

Aherfs is good. Semrush is good. I prefer Semrush much for keyword research.
 
SEMrush - for dedicated keyword research and competitive analysis. Ahrefs is great for analyzing backlinks. They work great if you use them together
 
I recommend both Aherfs and Semrush both are good.
 
Both Ahrefs and Semrush are good tool with different strengths. Choose according to your need.
 
For keyword research and site audit ahrefs is good to go.
 
If you are looking for a tool with a large backlink database and a powerful rank tracker, then Ahrefs is the better choice. If you are looking for a tool with a comprehensive suite of SEO features, then Semrush is the better choice.
 
Both are good in their own ways. Try out their trial plans prior, so you know which fits you well.
 
Both are good equally. You can use Semrush for keyword analysis and Ahrefs for backlink analysis.
 
Unless you do SEO as a business day in and out - it's way cheaper to buy a 14 days trial Semrush account when you need it.
