The most hilarious SOF question I have ever encountered in my programming life :D
    Code:
    http://stackoverflow.com/questions/4864144/which-is-better-6-databases-with-5-000-000-tables-or-5-000-000-databases-with/4864182#4864182
Not sure whether to post it in the lounge or in the programming section.... Mods please move this thread to the appropriate forum if you feel like so.

What do you need with so freakin many tables? Can't you just add 1 more column to 1 table and have 5000000 records/rows instead ?

Wish I had time to troll that guy. Funny thing is, he's probably got a job as a database administrator somewhere.

Damn you g0g0l.. I couldn't get any sleep last night after this reading this? So what's it going to be, 5000000 tables in one DB or what?? We should really screw him and convince him to use MongoDB or something.... requires fewer tables ya know. Only 2-300k last I saw.

NoSQL is not the answer to the NoBrainer ;)

The whole point of this thread was to tell people to stop thinking about crappy db models. That should be the first thing you should take care, isn't it?

Yeah, that is pretty interesting lol

When I first saw this I thought the guy was either trolling everyone, or got his words mixed up. But doesn't appear to be the case after reading his post on stackoverflow. What's funny too is he has been a member there for over 3 years, and is apparently building a social network.

I've seen new employees come into a company claiming to be database administrators, then not knowing ANYTHING about databases.

I love that some people don't care that they have no idea what the hell they are doing. I wish I was so confident that I could jump into something without even the idea I should learn about it.

I got a solid chuckle out of this, thanks.

Why not have 5000000 servers as well?
