Happy New Year!

Working on my blog and I am trying to ensure my internal linking is strong as I publish.

If I set up breadcrumb links to my homepage with "Home" as the anchor text and then drop a content link with "blue widgets" pointing back to my home page; which link will count in Google eyes? Are both counted equally or will the bread crumb "Home" count since it is first on the page?

My domain is keyword rich - bluewidgetsreview.com

Should I set it up breadcrumb with "Home" or "Blue Widgets Review" as home anchor? Would using the "Blue Widgets Review" as anchor text would be considered keyword stuffing? Not trying to ask a stupid question, but just want to make sure I dont screw this up.

Anyone got any recommendations on how to set this up for best results?

Thanks for all your help and hope everyone has a good week.

"bread crumb "Home" count since it is first on the page" - here's your answer.
I don't remember now where I read a case study... which basically proved that the second link (anchor) was ignored.

You have a good question and after many tests and trials I decided to keep "home".

i remember reading this case study too.

but if only one link is counted per page, what's the point of adding contextual links?
Breadcrumb links are 99% the first link and contextual links being the second(being ignored).
I also remember JM said the link in the header, footer, body is not so different.

My current strategy is: add links when necessary and forget about the "rules"(link location, numbers, anchors...) if those rules are conflicting with each other in some way.

Youll want to remove your actual website link and actual keyword from this post. Report your thread and ask a moderator to.

It’s safer that way.
