The september helpful content update for sure. It dropped one of my sites by -80%.

It has come to the point that it isn't "which update hit you?", but rather, "when will you be hit?"
It has come to the point where Google updates will sooner or later gonna affect you. You could be the "whitest" of whitehat sites out there, but sooner or later one of Google's horrible update will hit you. The exception, of course, is if you're a big authority site.
You've seen and heard about it, I've seen and heard about it; we all have seen and heard about it.
Of course, without doubt, the HCU update was the worst and I've never seen so many complaints online about it The October and November core update have been pretty mixed.

Obviously, September HCU was the biggest hit and it was not just for me, for a lot of people according to social media. I lost 50% of my traffic and revenue on my main sites. October Core also hit a bit but compared to HCU it was nothing.
I was demoralized at the beginning. But, now I can see that it really helped me to stop being lazy. I got back to working hard, even started a new project.

Is the total.count of indexes pages shown correctly on google and search console ?

I had some older websites which were created in 2010-11. None of these websites for affected by update this year.

August, Sept and Oct updates back to back. November undid most of the damage.
