I took 000webhost, and now I am waiting for 5 days for my domain to be verified. Also sent them 3 emails, and noone answered. Very poor customer service. Gonna change host.
Thinking about: freehostia.com or 1freehosting.com ?

Always be sure to remember:
You get what you pay for.
Hosting a website comes cheap nowadays, some hosts are even offering $5/month. Although I always recommend decent priced ones to my clients, cheap but paid ones are always better then free ones. No insta-shutdown of account due to unknown reason, no downtimes with no ETA.

With the amount of dirt cheap paid hosting, no reason not to use one of them. I have used a Hostwinds for two years with great success for $5 per month. And HostGator is still cheap as well.... Don't put all of your effort into a site and then watch it disappear.
