Hi everyone, my website was hacked while I was using CloudPanel. Next, I switched to CyberPanel, and this time the website didn’t get hacked. However, Google indexed over 600 fake spam backlinks. I realized this happened due to an exploit.

Thinking to go without any panels like LEMP but don't how to optimized it for wordpress.

CyberPanel, HestiaCP, or aaPanel are good options. If you go LEMP, secure it with updates, firewall, and wordpress security plugins.

Switching to LEMP without a panel is smarter for security if you set it up right. Keep WordPress, plugins, and PHP updated. Use a strong firewall (Wordfence or similar), set strict file permissions, disable unused PHP functions, and limit SSH access. Regularly scan for malware and clean spam backlinks via Google Search Console. This approach cuts risks and improves control.

For free panels, most people stick with CyberPanel, HestiaCP, or aaPanel. If you go pure LEMP, it’s faster and safer but you’ll need server management skills
 
I have 2 websites running on different CyberPanel servers for the past 2 years. One website’s ranking dropped, and after checking in Google Search Console, I found that more than 600 spam backlinks were indexed, including IPs and many *.forum domains. Now I’ve decided not to use any free control panels anymore. I’m currently testing OpenLiteSpeed without a control panel, and everything is working fine. Soon, I’ll completely shift to OpenLiteSpeed without CP.

Trust me, one day you will regret using it. I have been using VestaCP, CyberPanel, CloudPanel, and HestiaCP for more than 7–8 years.
 
Skip panels. Fresh LEMP, new sudo user, SSH keys only. Nginx limit_req on /wp-login, kill xmlrpc, 410 spam paths. PHP 8.3 with opcache, Redis object cache. UFW plus fail2ban. Cloudflare WAF. Rotate salts, prune plugins. GSC removals, resubmit sitemap, crawl again.
