1) New domain, newly created by you. It has a perfect match with a not very popular keyword. tld: .com -- Price: $8

2) Expired domain, costs the same price as a new domain, but has a reasonable backlink history, a little spam score, the domain name is totally random and has no connection with your niche. tld: .com -- Price: $8

3) An expired domain, with good backlink metrics, no spam score, however has a weird tld like co.za, the domain name has no relation to the niche however is brandable. -- Price: $25

4) Invest 40 times more and buy an aged domain with good metrics, .com and no spam. -- Price: $350

#1 or #4 - depends on your budget.

you can search on dropcatch. may be you can find a domain on the same niche for $59 with nice metrics.
3 or 4 option are the best

Your project details and goals are not stated, it would be helpful to add in more info for opinions given.

Many people (mostly not on this forum) like to buy names for their speculative value and sell
based on that only for multiples of that $8 and the buyer does not care and
build from scratch so it all depends on the niche. Some names drop that were parked several times with or without any website and are orphaned for years, adopted again then someone comes along and has a winning website. The age of the domain also is one metric to consider. Freshly registered names might take longer to index, this has been discussed before.

of course 4, but if you want to promote your brand, then the answer is 1 or buy a very expensive suitable domain

Either 4 or keep waiting for a decent domain name related to the niche with some backlink profile, backlinks could be a little spammy I wouldn't mind

alyways go option 4. even as newbie you should go option 4. no money? find the money first?
it's not like it cost $0 to build up a site on new domain from 0.
yes you can use your time, but any skill used and required to buld up the site, can earn you that ammount of money ,that you better off selll it for money than buy the option 4 domain
no 3 can be useful for pbn tough.

I can go for #1 but new domains will need a lot of SEO work. For #3, you said it's brandable but with random TLDs. TLD can matter a lot. It is a matter of time and money.
