    Hi everyone,

I have recently setup a couple of forums that have started to take off and I now want to setup one more in a niche that has a massive amount of potential with some competition but not huge amounts.

Anyway what I want to know is which of these domains do you think I should use for the site? As the subject is a brand name I can't use it so have had to abbreviate. So for example instead of blackhatworld I would use BHW. (It's not that by the way)

So, the 2 domains that I have bought are ***uk.com and ***forums.net. I am probably going to target the site for the UK market rather than worldwide as there is less competition and still huge interest.

    What do you all think?

If you are targetting UK market then UK.com is good choice .

For the uk it has to be uk.com. I would pick up the .co.uk if it's available just in case

I would go with the keyword in domain ***forums.net. So long as you host on UK IP the "uk" part of the domain is not really necessary

I say go with the ***forums.com domain. Yeah you can target the UK traffic, but its better not to discriminate the traffic at all. Your content can be targetted for UK people, but make the domain something brandable, and less country-specific.

    My 2 cents.

from my experience if people are searching for keyword uk it seems that keyworduk.com works better than keyword.co.uk

personally i always do defensive domain name buys so would get all the available options. i have keywordforum.com and forgot to buy the plural now a competitor is using it b4 mine has even launched.

.com or .co.uk .. you will most likely lose traffic to those extensions if you choose .net or .uk.com
