Which Currency Do You Prefer?

Hi Everyone,

I am reaching out the community here to request feedback on which currency you prefer when purchasing web hosting services. Presently we offer all of our services in British Pounds (UK, £ Pound Sterling), however are considering expanding to accept additional currencies.

A couple questions, all in the perspective of you purchasing web hosting services.
  • Which currency do you prefer?
  • Would you choose another provider if your first choice doesn't offer the currency you prefer?

USD. It's pretty much the standard currency I use to bill international clients.
 
USD. If you use PayPal it will auto convert the currency for the seller/buyer
 
US dollars, i live in the UK and pay for my hosting with US dollars.
 
BTC all the way. It grew 10% this month as well. That's a bonus you can't say no to.
 
It's pretty much irrelevant what we prefer.

You should know the countries most of your clients are from or the countries you're targeting and you should accept those currencies, because no-one likes to pay currency exchange fees.

As for me it's not that simple. I live in a country which is part of the EU, but not the monetary union (something like the brits), so we use a different currency than EUR, but when it comes to online services/shopping, i prefer to pay in USD rather than our own currency or even EUR, because USD is the currency i get paid in for my online work.

Since the GBP took a dive, it worth to check the prices in GBP on UK sites, because most of the times they're much lower in GBP than in other currencies, so it worth it to exchange pretty much any currency to GBP.

But for instance just the other day i paid in RUB in an online clothing shop, because that was the cheapest and well worth the USD to RUB exchange fees. All this happened on a German branch of a UK-based shop. lol

All in all, i think Wilson gave a great advice above, if you market in EU and the US, you should accept payments in USD, EUR and GBP the very least and you can expand it to CDN, AUD and INR too, if you want to target other bigger English speaking countries.
