Guys, I do DS in Brazil and I'm looking to start dropping out as well.

My question is: which country to start with? USA? Canada? UK? Any specific country in Europe? All of Europe?

Important: I only advertise on Google

Europe is not a country...

When I said Europe, I meant the entire continent.

If you have some good countries to start with in Europe, I would love to know too.

I'm at a loss for which countries to start advertising for.

I said that because in Europe you have tons of different laws and regulations depending on a country. Even within the European Union it is not the same for each of the member countries.

Also, people in Europe, especially in poorer countries, all know about Aliexpress and other Chinese stores and use them like insane.

When it comes to more wealthy countries like Germany, they do not bother with Aliexpress that much, because the thing they would get from Aliexpress for $5 and 30-60 days shipping time, they can get on Amazon for $12 and 2 day delivery.

So, to summarize, you cannot fool people from the poor European countries to buy from your store, since they all know about Chinese stores and are looking to save every penny. When it comes to wealthy countries, they like their quick delivery times they can get from Amazon.

Unless you can be as cheap as China, which you cannot, or ship as quickly as Amazon, which you cannot again, you will have a hard time trying anything in Europe...

I partly dissagree on this. I am from Bosnia, and I still see people (even in my family) buying from drosphippers. You can't "fool" them if you go the easy way and copy everything from aliexpress. If you make your own product images, and you make a good website and social presence you are good to go. You just need to be a good marketer and create a good offer.

This is what most people do:
- create a poor website, mostly not one product store and not even a niche store
- they import lots of bad products with poor copy and poor images
- they copy someone elses AD and advertise on facebook with no prior data
- try that for 2 weeks and quit
- no professional looking logo, no custom made images, no landing page with good offer

and even with that some tend to make a sale. Imagine what they could do with more quality approach

I am not a professional but I spent a lot of time studying marketing and landing page creation, offer creation, why people buy etc.

This is what I will do (have done so far):
- explore some specific problems people are having
- find a product that can solve it
- check reviews on aliexpress and amazon
- if needed check for scientific evidence on it
- make sure it has some volume search on google
- check instagram and tiktok for videos to see if you could go viral with that product (in other words - is it a good for promoting on those platforms)
- check facebook ad library to see if someone is promoting that product
- find that product on aliexpress (or in my case via agent in china)
- order that product to my homt to create a stunning images for the website
- check for my competitors website to collect the content
- take only the best segments of the content use it on your website
- create a LANDING page (I use woocommerce + cartflows + gutenberg + kandence block + kadence theme) for one product store with domain dedicated to that product
- follow a perfect landing page structure ( you can check this
)
- create a stunning offer ( you can create discount on bulk, give a free gift like ebook (you can find them on PLR websites), give free shipping, give lifetime support...)
- your offer needs to do this "give me $50 and I will give you $51" - everyone will accept that
- try to recreate similar videos that are already viral on tiktok or instagram - or go with paid advertising (create an AD for it)

I am not a proffesional, but I hope this helps someone. To explain every step here I would need a big thread, but I newbies reading this will learn something new for sure.

Buying from dropshippers or buying from people that import the same stuff from China?

There is a big difference.

Here is Serbia they buy Chinese products from such sellers, but from sellers that have items in stock and can ship them tomorrow.

top 5 countries are the best option on a dropshipping

I think dropshipping from China to developed countries will be very doable these days because of the long delivery time but you can try in these top countries: Adjaria, Azawad, Karakalpakstan, Somaliland, Karabah. You might be successful if you manage to deliver there!

USA is the biggest, UK is quite good but not even close to the US. German market is also great.

I'd focus on the US & Canada because although Europe is great, you might have difficulty targeting enough people speaking English.

Otherwise you'd have to translate your ad copies, website, and also work with multiple currencies
