I currently recommend Joomla, it's a great CMS, you can try it out.

You can go on with wordpress. Wordpress is building up to be a great cms all time. Easy to move on with for newbies.

People who recommend WP either misread the title or are e-tards. Also, if you are considering Joomla or Drupal, it's because Wordpress isn't up to the task of what is needed, so why then recommend it?
I've never tried Drupal, but have built many sites in Joomla. I recommend it wholeheartedly especially if you're not a coder. If you are, get yourself Jumi, my favourite plugin by far!

man nice read, I had used drupal once long ago but didn't stay longer with it cuz it wasn't the cms for project back then and they didn't had a extension to do that.
i'm going to try both of them now, lets see how it goes.

@Entrepreneur - if you like Jumi you are gonna froth at the mouth at directphp combined with customcontent plugin!!! check em out!
Directphp lets you use regular php in any of your articles as you would if you where coding normally...
the beauty of customcontent is that it lets you display the article that you added your php code too and postion the article in any module position you want...
its a killer combination to take your sites to the next level - more so if you know how to create and customize your own joomla templates, plus mixing it with the joomla framework!

It sounds very similar to jumi, because I often write dynamic pages/content using some custom php crap. I add new tables to the DB and then add jumi code within articles or modules that have my php to interact with the new tables.
One day I'll learn to build my own components and modules because I built a site some time back which was primarily updated from my own cms type thing with joomla. It was a few pages that were wrote in php, called as articles (where the actual article was just a jumi include) which then updated the tables with the DB!
It meant they could add, edit and delete photo galleries with just a couple of clicks (and without getting lost and confused within the backend) and edit article text without fucking with fonts and colours and all the other shit people enjoy when you give them free reign in a wysiwyg editor!
I was thoroughly pleased with myself, but wished it would have been within Joomla. Saying that, I didn't really want them getting all click happy in the admin area of joomla!

Been using joomla for 3 years. I can't say anything negative. Worpress seems cleaner, but it just is not as flexible as I like.

I beg to differ. I'm not an expert in php either but in my experience wordpress can handle anything. But since you're opting to change, Joomla is the way to go. My mate who does school websites uses Joomla and I can definitely say it's a very good and easy to use CMS platform.

I have no idea why the people here advised to go with Joomla. Maybe because it's easier.
The major of the many super affiliate sites and organizations out there use either wordpress or Drupal.
In essence; Drupal is very complex, very flexible and very secure. Joomla is just a fancy rip-off of wordpress while wordpress was the one to initiate an easier and search engine friendly version of drupal.
If you are looking at the marketplace; you will have far more work with Drupal than with Joomla, and on the other hand; wordpress is flooded with cheap labour and competition is tough while there is plenty of work.
It is all the way Drupal if you are a good PHP programmer and intend to build dynamic large websites. Not to mention how much money can be made as a developer.

Drupal was the very first my friend. Check your facts.
It was here before all the mentioned above + wordpress.
Actually, wordpress is a framework of drupal. (In a much easier fashion).

The only real question is WHY NOT USING DRUPAL ?
The only reply is laziness !
Because there is nothing that others can do and Drupal cannot, and as it is sure that Drupal is more powerful and reliable, why wasting time with less powerful Cms ?

If you're looking for something user friendly, then use Joombla
If you're a experience coder and want something solid... use Drupal

PROS: developer friendly, very scalable and powerful.
CONS: Not designer/user friendly. Need some code knowledge, lack of themes, harder learning curve, updates are slow.
Joomla
PROS: Friendly for all user types, better user interface
CONS: Not as SEO friendly, need more plugins, not really scalable, stuff can be confusing ie. alot of running around to do simple things (tedious).
