Which CMS should I choose to create a "download" site?

I want to create a CNET/Softpedia style download site. Afaik Wordpress doesn't have that kind of functionality that I want (your download starts in 10 secs etc).

The goal is to create download site not an exact clone of softpedia or filehippo.

Which CMS can I use to create such a site?

You can use Wordpress but add this:

Wordpress is the best solution to go. Easy to use and has lot's of available resources publicly to expand features.
 
I would say Yii2 framework. Pretty easy to get started. It will save you time, too. With that, yii2 is built for modern systems. You get things like db and output caching (will be needed if your site gets popular, especially db caching), seo friendly url scheme, queuing (although I doubt queue will be needed) and so many more things. Yeah, wp may work; but yii2 will be 10 times better suited for this.

Except the OP probably doesn’t know how to code to create their own CMS...

Use Wordpress. Then find a plugin that can manage downloads. Easy Digital Downloads might be worth a look.

There's no WP plugin that can manage downloads the way the sites I mentioned above do.
 
Wordpress used more than 85% total website and well popular and have an easy way to used.

CMS? He wants to create a download site, as I understood reading the OP; but I get it.. WP is n00b friendly. :)
Yii2 isn't that tough to learn either. Going the extra mile will ultimately help him to create a better system.

I know that but there's no theme or plugin for Wordpress that does the kind of thing I want it to do.
 
Go with Drupal. With Wordpress you'll probably get hacked within a few months.
 
I have one I coded it custom wordpress them , you need to add Post meta-key for download link file size etch and grape it from the theme ( therir no theme do this automatically you have to code it yourself )
