As far as the iOS vs android debate. I like to think of it like this: Some people like to drive cars with an automatic transmission and some of us prefer to drive something with a manual transmission.
An automatic is suitable for 99% of all the driving you'll ever do, but some of us still prefer to be able to control the gears manually.
iOS is the automatic of the phone worlds. Effortless, functional and suitable for 99% of users in the world.
Android is the manual version. If you like apps like tasker and want to take the time to personalise and tweak your phone, android is fantastic.

That's a good analogy but when I drive my manual car I don't expect it to break down just because I like to shift the gears my self
.I agree with what you're saying though, it's the same with Mac vs. Microsoft, you get more control with the latter, but I expect an out of the box device to run flawlessly, and in my experiences they haven't.
