Hi everybody,

"In every recession there are opportunities." :alien:

I'm Italian and I work as a restaurant manager (I worked?).
As you know hospitality/restoration is one of the most affected sectors of this big recession and probably, even after this recession hospitality will never be like before.

So, why I am writing this thread?

For sure not to talk about hospitality :D

For a long time I've been in different web marketing forums, reading tons of stuff, dreaming about a lot of "get rich quickly" project. Anyway my actions were stopping just to reading.
I was too overhelmed and I was to obsessed to have a fast and easy profit.
I' ve never take actions.

Thanks to my real life experience I understood that if you have patience and persistence and you take your time you have better chance to build something solid.

Seeing how the world is going increasingly to a web market, now more than ever I would like to start a solid online business.

A business that I could start with no budget or at least low budget and work on in a long term vision.
I have a lot of time for now because of the lockdown and probably for the next 2 months I'll have all day long to focus on.

I'm not looking for a "get rich quickly" bla bla bla "business", but for something solid despite the recession and sustainable even after the lockdown/recession period. I would be happy if with my own I'll be able to build a business and start to earning in 6 months maybe.

Thanks a lot in advance, in hurry to read your ideas.

It's already too late to take advantage of the pandemic.

You would need to have started in feb with a large amount of cash to do it quickly enough.

There aren't really many businesses you can start with a low budget. Business require money. If you don't have money, then you need to work as a consultant in some area you have skills in.

With no money, and no business experience you are looking at 2-3 years before you get something tangible going.

You actually got the key of success right there.

Anyways it all depends on your skills.
If you find something you are good at/you enjoy doing then the chances of success are way higher.
You gotta find a smart way to transform your hobbies into a moneymaking machine.

Overall for a long term project I would focus on growing a website. (depending on your coding/SEO skills you might need some help or even a partner)

Another way would be growing a business with a solid brand (dropshipping/print on demand/amazon fba) or even producing your own products.
This also means growing a website, social pages, dealing with orders/clients/etc...

In my opinion the most important thing about a long term project is bringing quality and being transparent & honest.
If you start using shady methods it will be very hard to gain trust from your clients.

I would have to agree with @splishsplash on this, you are a bit too late. But don't stop. Think forward. How will things change after COVID? what possible new changes in human behaviour/needs would present business opportunities?

@splishsplash @JesusChrist123 I noticed that I didn't explain my self in the right way, so you misunderstood me, I'm sorry this is because of my English

When I ask for a business to start in the coronavirus era I'm not looking for a business that ride the wave of the moment, sucking money as much as you can and abandon in a few months when the trend is down.

What I mean is a business sustainable even during this recession or better a business to start now because in the next months/years will grow.

For example: I'm not an expert and I have no experience to say this but I think the e-commerce business is having and will have a consistent growth in the next few months/years.

That's what I mean.

Thank you a lot for your response, I appreciate it.

For growing a website you mean for example a blog and then monetize it with affiliate link/membership/course etc?

What do you think are the most profitable niche despite the recession?

Yes it can be used as blog or in many other ways, with a website you can range to almost anything.
I'd say that a blog is the best choice if you don't have coding experience.
In my opinion any niche can be profitable if twisted in the right way.

There are also the evergreen niches like porn/dating/food/gaming/sports etc...
Now you just need to see them in a different way. For example now that all gyms are closed could be a nice idea to grow a home-workout website, then make $$ with ads, amazon affiliate, coursed etc... (of course it takes time)
Same thing with food, you could implement some sort of home delivery for your restaurant, or write a blog about easy-home-recipes that everyone can do. Of course the competition is high, so you could focus on even more specific things to make it easier.
There are too many things to say, but the most important thing is to think in a different way and take a niche where you have experience in.

the trend for remote work will stay
-digitalizing businesses, smma services, crm setup, etc
-ecom will def flourish, so target ads, marketplace optimizations, video/photo content creation fo businesses
-building up other peoples online presence, help them how to coach online, setup sales funnels (for teachers, fitness iinstructors etc)
-everything that covers basic needs such as housing, food, health. with a bit of twist + sustainability, eco, alternative living
-gardening, agriculture, diy stuff

Before the virus took hold, I started a business teaching how to create mobile apps.
A lot of my traffic comes from YouTube,
I've made sales during the lockdown.
If you have a skill or some knowledge that could help people then build a business around that.
Perhaps how to start and manage a successful restaurant. People would pay to learn about how to do that. It's a bit of work to create a website and training course online, but it's worth starting somewhere.
