Hi guys,

it's been like 2 years that I'm using Chrome, and was using Firefox before that.
Now I'm reconsidering my decision and I plan to use Firefox again because I have concerns regarding my privacy.

Do you have any recommendations?

Cheers,

I have heard bad things about Internet Explorer but it is my choice because of
the speed compared to the slower speed of Firefox.

IE = Microsoft
Chrome = google
Fk all these big corporations...
Firefox Rullz ;)

Mainly Opera.
Still, I have a dozen of Chromes opened too with different proxies.

Firefox.. even if I hate it at times, i still prefer it anytime

I'm about to switch from Chrome - with the number of tabs I have open I get big memory leaks or something and it eventually fills my hard drive.
I use firefox because of firebug, but it slows things way down.

Chrome is the best browser. If you have privacy concerns, you might want to check out SPWare Iron (http://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron.php) which I currently use and is basically Chrome, but more private. Doesn't collect any info, and doesn't send anything back to google.
According to the website:

Google's Web browser Chrome thrilled with an extremely fast site rendering, a sleek design and innovative features. But it also gets critic from data protection specialists , for reasons such as creating a unique user ID or the submission of entries to Google to generate suggestions. SRWare Iron is a real alternative. The browser is based on the Chromium-source and offers the same features as Chrome - but without the critical points that the privacy concern.

We could therefore create a browser with which you can now use the innovative features without worrying about your privacy.

I don't trust chrome and Internet Explorer sucks the bag lol. I use FireFox and absolutely love it.

As far as safest, you should probably download Linux and use that browser (IceWeasel I think?).

I like chrome. I was definitely in love with firefox but then my friends started using chrome and then i got so use to it when they were over just watching youtube videos lol

I use Chromium, it is the open source version of chrome. OS: Ubuntu

I use Firefox for work and Opera for private stuff.
They updated Opera, by that I mean totally redesigned it and it's features. The previous ones were slow and weren't flexible but at leas had great features. You can control still control the whole browser with only your mouse, but the removed the bookmarking option, and you can't synchronize your email with it anymore.

Safari for casual browsing

Firefox for web dev (the built in tools are better now - don't bother with firebug for ages), down them all etc...

'Safest' (for your machine) is probably Lynx...but everyone should be aware theres no real anonymity online. even Mozilla's major donor is the big G...

Nothing google and nothing adobe installed on mine anymore. I only let Apple hoover up all my data these days :-)

If you are worried about security then try this:

Use Chrome, run it in Sandboxie (Google it)

In Chrome disable all browser extentions. Then go into settings, content settings and under plugins do "Click to play" This will stop things like flash from running without you knowing about them.

Nothing is 100% secure but this is a pretty good way to go about it.
