Edge Browser, I'm not joking. They're copying everything that looks like Chrome and adding extra functionality on top of it. Who knows, they might end up becoming a major competition for chrome.

This comes as a surprise to me because Edge browser is product of Microsoft and It has another name is Internet Explorer

I hope Firefox survives. I'm not a fan of Chrome and Chrome-based browsers taking over the market.

MS isn't a factor in the mobile OS industry, which is the general direction, where things are heading. That and wearables. If you take a look at the present OS market share regarding all platforms, Windows is around 30%, Android beats it with its 40% share. If a browser wants to dethrone Chrome, it needs to do it on Android.
You see that grey dot almost on the 0% axis? That's how relevant Edge is, when it comes to all platforms.
I can't really imagine people switching to Edge on Android. Any browser which would want to overtake Chrome, needs to be strong in the mobile department. Just having the majority of the desktop OS market doesn't cut it anymore and Edge still has a long way to go there too.

Firefox (for me) is the best browser. I avoid Chrome, as I churn & burn GAds. Edge is horrible, as it keeps refreshing tabs even after disabling that feature. Firefox may take the lead in another 2 to 3 years.

Now look at Windows’s case. It used to come with Internet explorer as the default browser and it was really bad, so people would download Chrome. Now Microsoft made edge, and it’s very decent, like chrome. So people won’t feel like getting a new browser, as the new edge is really good. And that’s exactly what Microsoft wants, because they will get more users using Bing, edge default browser. And Bing is very profitable for Microsoft.

People who have used Chrome for a long time will not switch to Edge which is basically a poor man's Chrome.

Brave. It's one of the easiest privacy oriented browsers. Plus it has a strong crypto community huddling around it, which can only be bullish longterm.
