Which backlink type do you find to be the most powerful method?

Anyone notice that Google seems to like any link that gets moderated?

Ezine or other major article site: moderated & Google loves it.
Any descent blog comment with high PR and Do follow: moderated & Google loves it.
Profile links: hardly ever indexed by Google.
Bookmarks: hardly ever - the ones with a captcha to post seems to do better in Google's eyes.

This makes sense. Google is relying on others the benefit of the doubt to police themselves of spam.

Article sites s*ck. I killed tone of time writing stupid articles and submitting them all over the place and they are just sitting there and they are never indexed. I did both junk and quality article sites and they are all the same. If you thought Squidoo and Ezine artcles a quality ones, you would be surprised how much are they ignored by SEs.

I did social bookmarks and SE pings, to help articles get indexed, but to no avail.

I am now leaving comments manually in various hi PR blogs and that works fine. At least I get indexed links.
Try harder and you will succeed ;)
I have a real success with article marketing. You get more than BLs from article sites. Your articles are picked up by autoblogs and so your nr of BLs will increase. I know that these are not so powerfull but a BL is a BL. I can say that only today I got 8 trackbacks from autoblogs that posted my articles. That means 8x2=16 BL without doing a thing :D

Edit: I forgot to add that besides BLs you will also get traffic. So more articles=more traffic. Now back to work.

How could Google tell if a blog is moderated or not?

Sure, formats like wordpress usually are, but there are a great many blog platforms that are equally likely to be moderated or unmoderated.

In regard to free, manual backlink building, the most powerful method is blog commenting. It combines authority with PR and text integration of your link. It's also extremely quick and easy if you're good at it.

Think about all the effort of creating a web 2.0 just for a single link. It's good to have those links, but you can get them more quickly and easily using comment spam. In light of these time conmstraints, I use web 2.0 building as a supplementary to my main focus of commenting.

I never use article sites unless I want to drive traffic as the article ranks highly. Using them for backlinks makes no sense, because you have to work so hard to get through the manual article review, just for a single link.

Profile links are useful sometimes, but you cannot base your strategy solely on them. Everything leads me to believe that Google views profiles as poor quality links unless:

1 - You can divert PR flow internally to the profile pages.

2 - You can put a decent sized body of text on your profile page.

You definitely need to get as many diverse backlinks as possible. Use blog posts, angela and paul style links, forum profiles, articles, and linkwheels to get the best possible rankings. Then bookmark, ping, and RSS submit the hell out of all of them. It can be a lot of work or you can outsource it. It just depends on how bad you want a top ranking.

Hi,

Can you explain the process of bookmarking, pinging and rss submiting the backlinks? I'm quite confused about this. Thanks.

Bookmark the profile accounts with semi automated/automated social bookmarking tools such as onlywire, create an RSS feed with links to each profile using hxxp://www.html2rss.com/, and submit that to many RSS directories. Once the RSS is crawled by spiders, the profile links will be indexed.
Some RSS directories:
Code:
Goldenfeed.com, RSSMicro.com, RSSMotron.com, AZFeeds.com, 2RSS.com, Feedboy.com,
Feedplex.com, Feedbomb.com, Feedage.com, Feedraider.com, MillionRSS.com,
RSSMountain.com,
Feedagg.com

In your opinion what method do you find seems to give your site the most boost in the rankings?

I figure this would be a good thread for the new folks to help them out along their path to success.

The most valuable backlinks are High PR backlinks.

My point there was many blogs won't auto post a comment, obviously somebody has to look at your comment first before it goes up. That's a way Google could tell if a pair of eyes is checking out your spam.:-)

I am (finally) coming around the focusing on blog comments. After all this work of finding an article app that can post automatically (Automatic Article Submitter), spinning content thoroughly and getting it posted with an almost single click on the button, I now find I'm getting shit for back links on all those auto post article sites. Yahoo and Google just don't seem to find them.

All the methods which are mentioned above are useful for gaining Backlinks to improve the popularity and good rank in major search engines....any of the above method can be opt for backlinks only we have to take care of targeting popular websites having good position in major search engines....

I would have to say the single most powerful backlinks
are from Authority websites within your niche.

Check Alexa ranking for websites in your catagory.

The easiest websites to arrange three way backlinks from
are those from different countries because can both
receive benefits without directly competing with there / your audience.

Do I choose link base or single page when creating the rss feed?? Thx

U know... SEOing ur site offpage is a lot like having sex, u can't just squirt and be done with it... Gentlemen INCORRECT! , you need a variety of positions, places and experiences to be fully satisfied, the same is true if you want to reach that highly competitive G-Spot.

</Let the "Thank U" rain begin! LOL>

lol, u r hilarious dude !!! a great comparison

That was actually really useful idea, thanks mate!

My best experiances are with building web 2.0 properties with unique content. It stay's and it gives HQ backlinks!

I try to diversify and avoid focusing on the easiest methods since that usually means people flock to it like crazy. Besides it looks more natural, it actually saves you if Google decides to detect and boot out one particular strategy.

And this is just another rude reminder how retarded I am. I barely know what you said here and I am supposed to be competing with someone like you. I'm screwed.:(
