which antivirus do you use and why?

Mcafee is good, but when downloading files its sometimes best to download on a virtual pc first just incase ransomware is built into it.

I'm using Bitdefender Internet Security on all 3 comps in my office. It isn't cheap but multiple licenses pay off. I would say it works pretty descent as an antivirus and firewall.
 
I use linux.
I only install software from trusted sources. Don't run bullshit files and keep a close watch on the processes running on my computer (and what they're upto).

Never had a malware problem. Ever.
 
I Use Quick Heal Antivirus Pro. It Provide us better security and virus protection fro malware and unknown threat.
 
Avast, because i dont have money for paid one.

Eset. Been great for over 15 years. Newegg has it on sale often. 3 PCs for less than $30.
 
It's a toss up for me, Bitdefender worked great but somehow interfered with Followliker on my desktop, so I got Kaspersky that worked great but for some reason I tried to uninstall to reinstall,had problems, so know i'm with Norton Security and I like it.
 
I use avast for almost 10 years. I think it is lightweight with nice realtime protection.
Whatever av you use, just ensure the virus definiton database always uptodate, otherwise it will be useless.

With OSs it's pretty much the same. You can install the best antivirus ever, you will waste your computer resources (and maybe money too) and someday you will get caught by a virus anyway. It's your destiny.

Yep, Linux is pretty much hackable too, but who would care to spread a virus for the average John Doe's home-based Linux system?
The last time I formatted my computer was 8 years ago... the same exact time I have been running Linux.
