Which anti virus program is best?

Nod32 sucks really, yesterday my computer infected with a trojan and Nod32 was very happy with it!

Uninstalled Nod32 / Installed Kaspersky and removed that trojan quickly.

NOD32. hands down. I used all the others, and nothing as come close to the level of protection that NOD32 has given me. I've been using it since pre2.7, they are at v4 now. They update their definitions constantly, like i get updates 2,3, sometimes 4 times a day. And it also doesn't take up valuable system resources like craptastic Norton, or McAfee. Runs quietly in the background, and only bothers you when there's something that requires your attention. Other than that, it's the best AV out there.

I aggree it uses less resources but for me it's not good anymore.

Yesterday while I was surfing on web suddenly I saw huge "mailer daemon" notices spamming my inbox. After a little inspection I found a process named pdfupd.exe was doing the spam and NOD32 was up and running really quietly :)

Norton anti virus USED to be good now its just crap lol
I use the free version of Avira.
AVG is good aswell.

Nod32 (tested sucked removed)
McAfree (tested sucked badly removed)
Avira (tested sucked removed)
AVG (tested sucked super badly removed quickly with windows)
Norton (do not install this virus on your pc)
Kaspersky (use it now can't really complain)
Bitdefender (tested too bitchy whines on every program you use)

This is my personal experience so don't start debate on this!

xplicit,

Have to agree with jdog37...you need to find what works best for you based on your needs after doing your due diligence thru your research. For us Avast works best. We upgraded and bought it, altho you can go with the free version. We also use SUPERantispyware which seems to work well, too.

Conclusion : no one is perfect!

ESET NOD32 is the best in my opinion. It does not take over your computer like other more popular brans of antivirus.

There are a lot of torrents floating around with the marafix so you can turn the times demo version into the full thing.

I have been using kaspersky and it has done very well. Whenever I have a license run out I always do a bit of research to see which antivirus is currently the best. It seems like it changes from year to year.

I use Kaspersky + Malwarebyte's anti malware (licensed) +sandboxie and they are pretty good.
