No crap. No affiliate links. No trying to make money from Miscers. No cliffs, either.
I was going to have people PM me, but since this method is only a tweak on a widely available method, I will make it widely available on here. Feel free to PM me with any questions, and it may take me a few days to get back to you, but here is how I'm going to go about making $60,000 or more in a side job this year, step-by-step:
PROCESS
1) Go online and find 20 companies in your area with crap reviews. Best bets are apartments/condos, restaurants, and hotels.
2) Get all the information you can about them. Compile it into a spreadsheet.
3) Take and print a few screenshots of their bad reviews and circle the worst parts. Type up a letter to them as well. Potential body of the letter:
I'm going to get straight to the point because I know you're busy; attached are some unfavorable reviews about your {business type} that I pulled from the very 1st page of Google.
My name is {Your Name}, and I'm a online reputation management consultant right here in {City, State}. I may have even been in your business at one time or even worked with some businesses near yours.
Here's the Deal:
I can help your {business type} improve your online reputation. Your customers are seeing what others have to say about you before ever walking through your door - and the bad apples leaving these reviews are ruining your good name online. In fact, nearly 70% of your potential customers are consulting reviews and ratings before making a purchase decision. I'm sure if you had your way this isn't how you would choose to represent your company on the internet. I can work with you to suppress, directly answer, or in some cases entirely remove this negative press.
Costs? I can offer you services from a simple one-time cleanup to an ongoing monthly reputation management strategy. Whichever way you should decide to go, the costs involved are nothing compared to what this kind of negative customer-generated content is costing you every month. Just contact me on my cell at 00-000-0000. If I'm with another client just leave me a message and I'l get back to you as soon as possible.
4) Put the screenshots, the letter, and two dice into an envelope and seal it. Do this for all twenty. This is the most work you will have to do in this. Here are a few images:

5) Take the letters to the post office and have them sent via parcel post. They will be hand-delivered, not in the mailbox. You want them read, not thrown aside. It will cost you $50, tops. Worth every penny.
6) Wait a week for responses. 10% response rate (2 out of 20) is typical initially. Give them a call after ten days and you may rake in another 4. For our statistics, let's say you get 5 clients total to agree to your idea.
7) Your idea: Increase their online reputation. Strategy: Print out postcards from Vistaprint and ship them to your business owner. Here's an example:

8) You will also make them a portal site that the postcard-reviewer visits. Here is the process of the customer:
a. Business owner hands a feedback postcard to the customer as they leave their business. They ask for a review as a "personal favor" and quickly walk the customer through using the card to leave a review online.
b. The customer visits your custom reviews portal and chooses whether he/she had a good or bad experience with the business.
c. Depending on their selection, they are presented with options to continue. Bad reviews are redirected to a web form where you collect the info and email it back to the business owner in real time. Good reviewers are presented with direct links to sites where the customer needs the feedback the most, ie Google Places, Yahoo Local, TripAdvisor, etc.

9a)Download to the template for the site and the postcard. just upload the site and edit the code with links, and edit the postcard through a photo editor: http://www.mediafire.com/?vcvbfv7k3uexhha
9b) If you don't have enough marketing/sales experience to close the deal, here is a paper with tons of sourced statistics to give your client yet another wakeup. Highly suggested: http://www.mediafire.com/?r61x1vxy5uw41oi
10) Build the site, send the cards, get it going. Send them another 250-500 cards monthly, and watch their positive reviews skyrocket. Rinse and repeat.
BOTTOM LINE
Say you do this ten-step process twice. End up with ten clients, and are charging them various prices leading up to an average of $550 per month. They will pay that, trust me. Costs for you are around $50 per month, just for the cards. That's it. The domain one month a year is a cost, but that's about it, besides hosting.
Ten clients at $550 average per month - $50 per month average costs = $500 per month average profit per client. That's $5,000 per month average profit per month total or $60,000 for the year. After the initial work, maintaining clients is simply a monthly sending of cards and one quick phone call to review. A few hours a month, tops.
Not much work, honestly. Stagger the payment plans, and you can have $500 in your pocket every three days for as long as you keep your clients.
That's it. Use your imagination. PM me if you need help.
