I know a few michigan people here but, who else is from michigan? :)

I am lol, I'm afraid there's gonna be a thread like this for every state now.

If they were smart, they would be the hell out of Michigan.

One step ahead of you, brother.

Applied at North Carolina University - Chapel Hill. Going to go for the MBA and hopefully start a firm, using my own capital + bonds, do buyouts on struggling companies that I think can become profitable.

And then take over the world. Of course.

I grew up there.. I live on Woodmere and Fort till I was 12, then moved to the burbs.. Wyandotte, Southgate..

Went to the service.. after I got back, I went to Brooklyn/Jackson area... Well got married and now settle in TN

My whole family is still there and ask why I never visit.. I just say.. Look where you are...lol

But I am still a die hard Wings fan.

The only place that seems to be going in the right direction is Grand Rapids, and some of East Lansing.

East side Detroit 7 mile Van Dyke. And also Grand Rapids here

Then moved to Raleigh. Split my time now.

@ XPLICIT

I def agree with you there. Come check out our famous ruins, Detroit.

I'm from Kalamazoo, but now live in Fl, too cold there..

kzoo.. boy I remember when spring valley park was nothing but fun.. Its dead in Kzoo now. I was there not too long ago..

We use to ride our bikes to battle creek

I would offer an alternative opinion. Michigan is the land of opportunity right now. Everyone is leaving and real estate is dirt cheap (far below cost to build). It's only a matter of time before values level off at cost to build. The suburbs of Detroit are beautiful - Plymouth, Northville, Ann Arbor. The lakes communities are just a 40 minute drive from downtown Detroit. If you want to look further north you've got Traverse City, Grand Rapids, etc.

I would suggest giving Michigan another look. Those who live here and talk crap - Shame on you, you know better and you're just jumping on a band wagon.
