Hello,

My friend has an emergency and is looking to sell his collection of coins (old and rare coins). I suggested him ebay but there seems GSTIN and some other things needed to open an ebay seller account. He is not a business person, so what other good places can we try to fetch good price?
We tried classified sites but we are getting scam and annoying phone calls instead of true buyers.

Regards

Ebay, Amazon, and OLX are the places people usually buy old coins. It'll be difficult to reach customers if you sell them through some other platform.

Look up "buy rare coins" in your native language and list them there. Do some keyword research to find sites with traffic and either sell it to them or list them there..

I think we need GSTIN and other business licenses to join ebay and amazon. We tried olx but we are getting scam calls. Thank you for the reply

Thank you, will do it.

Can anyone tell me if these coins can be sold for good price, we have genuine collection but when I checked the amazon, the price seems to be too low. I heard the coins are being sold for decent prices. Are the coins sold on amazon not real?

If they are actually old and rare, you can always visit a local coin shop. They'll be more than happy to buy it. I collect ancient coins and always trade/sell them with the local coin shop.

Contact storage wars which comes on national geographic Channel. :D

What makes you think they are old and rare? If they are used then they are worth a lot less. If they have printing/pressing errors then they are worth more. What sort of coins are they?

In Australia we have something called Gumtree
They might be a local marketplace site for your area :)

Hello,

I have lots of this old 50s coins. I googled a UK company that buys coins. However, I sent them a photocopy of each coin. They claimed the value is too low.

You can visit Royal Mint, they determine the value of your coins.
Heritage and Modern coin Mart are worth trying.

Craigslist for example.
Or try to find Numismatics sites and offer them.

i think ebay is the best and biggest market for this

I am assuming you are from India since you mention GSTIN? Where are you from? If you are from or near Bangalore there are few auction houses that deal with coin collections. You can also contact coin exhibitions like NNE (https://www.nnebangalore.com/contact.php). Maybe they can help you estimate the value of your collection and get it auctioned.

Old coins which are not graded are a risk to buy. Morgan dollars from China, are counterfeit. As shady as Crypto trading exchanges. Buyers have been burned, so many times, that they don't buy them. Good luck. Go sell them at a coin dealer or pawn shop. You must have flea market. Go there to sell.

Thank you very much. Yes we are from India. We will definitely try it.

thank you.
Facebook market place
You can find some helpful buy sell group on facebook.
We tried a few groups but got some people reaching us asking for money deposit first to get coin seller accounts. Sounded like scam so we stopped using them
Ebay, facebook marketplace or your local site of craiglist.
Thank you
