$10 per article is possible, I earn it on some sites, others you need to scale down to market value. It is easy to make money even at $5 an article, you just need to find some great writers to work for fairly cheap, like $2.50 an article. Easy to do? Not entirely, but with a little effort, its not to hard. I do lots of voume on DP, at 2 bucks profit an article, turning around 50 a day is no biggie.

I sell articles at DP and I've seen people buying article for up to $15 per article real easy. Not from me personally though, because I have never set my price that high before.
Most of the cheap members who like to beg review copy hangout around the content creation. But at the content section, things are different and it's easy to sell a couple of articles in no time.

I need some articles written about various topics. I will provide, but mostly about various attractions in my home town, real estate, finance, and the occasional random topic. I want quality and will pay $12.50 per 500 word article. I will need samples of your work prior to engaging your services. Also, please be able to meet deadlines that you agree to. mt current writer is great, but very hit or miss reliability wise.

Google "article writing" or "content creation" and you'll find many writers advertising their services for more than $10 per article. Like it's already been said, it depends on quality and reliability.

Like saying that first-time sellers need to bear with low rates while they prove their worth through the quality of their work during the early goings. Is that right?
The article writing area seems to be moving into 2 distinct areas, cheap articles with cheap content and as you said previously there are many services now being offered at $15.00 or above, the quality of the articles and content is so much more indicative of the keyword at the dearer level.
I paid recently $28 per article for 750 words on quantum physics, i had 15 articles delivered within the week with correct tags based on the big bang theory, re-sold them off to a edu site for $49.00 per articles. One site purchased the full amount.
I suppose its like everything supply and demand.

supply and demand is right. The more complicated the topic, the better the writer and the writing, the more you can charge.
Plus, you need to flip the script. Don't look for people wanting to pay more per article. Instead offer your service and convince them why you are worth every penny. If you don't think you are worth it they certainly aren't going to think so.
