Where to put backlinks in an article?

I have an article written with keywords but I don't know if I should backlink the keyword to my website or if I should just backlink the text showing my website name. I don't think I should backlink both?

And can I backlink my home page and then some other different pages, is that good?

How much % should I link to keywords and how much to brand name?

Exact keyword I can link max 1 time per article or 1 time across many?
 
Usually it’s better to link naturally within the content using relevant anchor text instead of just the site name every time. Mixing anchors and linking to both your homepage and relevant inner pages tends to look more natural.

Just keep it natural: sometimes use your keyword, sometimes your brand name even plain URLs works fine No need to link everything.
And yeah linking to both homepage and inner pages is actually better just make sure it fits naturally in the content.
 
Most people waste time worrying about anchors. It doesn't matter whether it's a keyword or a brand. What matters is where the link leads. If you link only to the homepage, Google won't understand what topic the article is related to. It's much better to link directly to the page you want to promote and support it with a couple of internal links. Regarding anchors, mix them, but don't count percentages. Page relevance and placement matter more than anchor type.
 
Simply, Keep it natural. Put the link where readers might click it.

Definitely mix it up. If you only use exact keywords as your anchor text, it’s a massive red flag for Google. Use a blend of your brand name, generic terms like 'click here,' and occasionally your target keywords.

And yes, linking to both your homepage and deep pages (inner pages) is actually better. It looks way more natural and helps spread the link equity across your whole site instead of just one page.

you can link them however you want, 1 or 2 links will not be a problem...

But when you have many links pointing to the same URL you need to be mindful of the anchors, especially the exact match ones as those are the most sensitive and can trigger google penalties the fastest.

you can link to more than 1 page, but the common practice is to use 1-3 links per article, more than this you will be diluting the power that each page gets, and I don't think you want that :)

When I was in this business I would almost always (like 80-90% of the time) link to 2 different pages (to the homepage with branded anchor text, and to an inner page with a generic anchor text), but that was several years ago, I'm not sure what practices are working well nowadays...

But yeah, you can definitely link to more than 1 page, just don't overdo it because each one of the pages that you link to will get less and less link juice (authority, page rank, whatever you want to call it, it's basically the same thing)...

From my experience, it’s usually better to keep a mix of anchors instead of using only one type. Sometimes I use the keyword as the anchor, and other times I use the brand name or even a natural phrase. It helps the link profile look more natural. Linking to both the homepage and some relevant inner pages also works well in many cases, especially when the content matches the page you’re linking to.
 
Try using 2 different keywords for an article, put on in the start and one at the end of the article.
 
you want a natural mix so definitely don't just spam exact match keywords everywhere or google will flag it for over-optimization. usually the best move is using your brand name or raw url when linking to your homepage, and saving the actual keyword anchor text for linking to your specific inner pages. dropping 2 or 3 links to different pages on your site in the same article is totally fine as long as it actually reads naturally in the content.
 
In my personal opinion, I recommend combining backlink creation for both to make your backlink profile look as natural as possible. Overusing keywords alone can easily make Google suspect you're manipulating rankings. Allocate a reasonable ratio approximately 70% for the brand name/plain URL and 30% for the target keyword. Linking to both the homepage and subpages is very beneficial, helping to distribute the link power and increase the overall credibility of your website
