So, I'm starting a niche homepage where I will target one keyword per post.

What is the best way to go?

Should I go for one campaign per post, and point all my backlinks to the post?

When and why should I post backlinks to the domain itself?

Thanks in advance!

nowadays diversity is the key.. building random links to your main page and to the posts pages

One keyword per post is not the greatest approach either. Anchor diversity is important so when you're building those backlinks, diversify the anchors as best you can. It's a good idea to throw 3-4 other keywords alongside the 1 you pick out, plus use some generic phrases and variations of your URL as well. As the post above me says, randomly linking to all pages is ideal. The homepage should have lots of URL variation anchors too.

Thanks, but I'm still a bit confused about how I should set up my campaign(s)?

Point it everywhere, your goal is to look natural, so it can be totally random.

Easy with the advice. Yes diversity is key but your reply reads as if the OP should just machine gun his anchor texts. Carefully selected and chosen anchor texts that are relevant and related to the niche (and target keywords) is the answer. A 'few' generic and a 'few' naked anchors are wise but I've tested this for the last 9 months or so and it's still not that important. Having LSI anchor texts is much more beneficial than 'click here', 'website', 'read more'.

You should focus on social media more then backlinks if you want your blog to stay in serp for a long time.

google has really toughen up with anchor diversity... to be honest if you are targeting one keyword per post at least make sure that your backlinks have very diverse anchors. Also your homepage, if is static, should target a good 5+ of your main keywords and then do diverse link building to your homepage

You can build backlinks simultaneously for your home page and other sub pages. If you just want to target only one keyword, then try to find the longtails related to that keyword. Then use the targetted keyword, longtails, lsi, generic keywords, raw url's as anchor to show the anchor diversity.
