Where to invest $2000?

If your a complete noob to seo like me, I'd say buy a pre-made website, or a few microsites, buy quality seo work from a member here in the for sale section, or invest in seo tools if you are wanting to do it all yourself and learn!
or joint venture with a reputable member on here and invest your money that way =)
but I'm still a noob so I'm sure a wiser member will come up with something better for $2000

1) Get good at SEO- FREE (just use search function, and hang out in the white hat and bh SEO section here and other forums)
2) Learn other aspects of online Marketing such ass Google Maps, PPC, Video Marketing ect ect- FREE (See step one)
3) Start an online SEO company
a) Website- $200-$1,000
b) Hosting- $5 per month
4) Market to local businesses in your area or even nationwide.
5) Build your clientele
Obviously there is a bit more to it but this is the basics. My first business online was selling online advertising. I used the business to keep me afloat and parlayed it into many different businesses. With selling online advertising you learn how to market businesses, and you also make great contacts. It is a great stepping stone or even a career. There is plenty of money to make.

You have to at-least invest half of it in getting Unique Content, it is the single most important thing on the internet.

How about this:
Build a Directory of something, do some cold calling
or outsource all of that as well.
$2000 can get you alot. just start with something local, its a bit easier

DO you want to create a job for yourself or do you want to create money. If it is the latter then you need to just pass the $2000 off to someone who can put it to work like myself. I feel sorry for people who have money but want to learn how to do something. By the time they get good their money is gone.

You can only decide where to put it if you know what online money making strategy you are good at or want to try. If your knowledge is lacking, I recommend only rolling with $500. Put $1500 in a CD or Money Market account for a few months while you learn.
Personally, I'd use it to buy a few pre-made sites that already have good SEO and are guaranteed money makers. Look for sites where tweaks can be made or where scaling up can be done to make more money. If they pay for themselves within a few months, rinse and repeat until you have a small empire.
