    somethin in the lines of:

    <html>
    <head>
    <body>

    <p>Page Under Constrction</p>

    </body>
    </head>
    </html>

    Honestly, can't really get much more complex than this... fire up DreamWeaver and do a fast sketch.

    why waste time with under construction?
    I always put up a page at least explaining what will be there someday, and may as well put up robots.txt and a sitemap just to hurry the indexing process

    You could just put up a launch page to capture visitor email addy's. Much better than "under construction."

    I can't find the one I usually use, but here's a simple & free one I found.

    Demo:

    Code:
    http://www.webresourcesdepot.com/wp-content/uploads/file/free-launch-page/
    Download page:

    Code:

    Why do you need a template for that anyway?

    Capturing e-mail addys is probably a good idea but just go to google image search and search with "under construction" and you'll find tons of images suitable for this.. just throw in one of them? Or what do you mean by template?

    As what others are saying.

    Instead of a "under construction" page (quite useless imo)

    Do a timer count-down at the top of the page that says

    "SuperDuper Product" will launching in 10 Days 6 Mins 40 Secs ..(countdown)

    Be The First To Get In On This Ground Breaking Product!

    Enter Your Name And Email Below

    opt-in form goes here

    That way, once it launches, you've a list of pre-approved and eager contacts to sell to.

    Dont know why some people are so surprised. This is common really. Just google it really, its not hard to find. Also be sure to setup an autoresponder to capture the emails. Ive done this before I launched two sites and caught some nice emails. (Not many but they convert nice) I guess they converted well because the people who opted in were interested in what I was selling.
