Would like to register a domain on godaddy just because first year costs 1 dollar. But I have heard stories with godaddy, witch I don't like a lot. My question is, does it really matter where i register?
Namecheap is about 10 bucks witch is kinda a lot for me right now but provides for free WhoisGuard witch i don't even know how useful it is. Also if i go with godaddy (or any other website for that matter) can i change my registrant? How long does it take? can they refuse me if they don't want me to move for whatever reason? Thought that i might even go with hostgator for the domain aswell for about 5bucks

I have several domains with GoDaddy and have never had a problem

Yes you can register a domain with any registrant like godaddy namecheap or hostgator and you can change at ater time with a transfer fees which is different on different site.
And the WhoisGuard is to protect register information not be on public.

i buy all my domains from Godaddy and have done so for years without any problem, in fact i would recommend them

Personally i use namesilo $9 with WHOIS privacy

I stopped using Godaddy after i got burned with stupidly high renewal fee.

But if your creating a churn and burn site then it doesn't matter

Def not churn and burn, i went for godaddy and hopefully i won't have problem, one more question guys, i will be creating my website with wordpress, should i go with wordpress option for hosting or regular is perfectly fine? Also if i go with regular (witch i can get at 1 cent) can i change my plan afterwards?

Regular of course. Yes, you can change plans

Can u explain exactly why? apart from the 1 cent for first month

@OP Take notes on GoDaddy's upsell game

So fierce

Depends on what you want. Are you looking to buy and resell (the website) or are you keeping it indefinitely?

I know a few great places that offer good services. And I would agree that godaddy has high renewal fees, it's their bread and butter money afterall...

Many SEO experts who build PBN need to subscribe to Whois guard so Google can't find their black hat links farm.

You can register the domain name with any of the registrar and I hope it will not be an issue. But be careful in selecting the hosting provider which should be reliable or else its you who gonna suffer.

Go Daddy is cheap year one, then year two you pay way more than you should. Auto renew settings that magically do not go away are some of the more annoying things, and poor customer service.

That said I still use them and will continue to. If you are careful they work fine if you know what you are getting into.

Goodaddy is good, namecheap is good too, but I prefer namecheap, because it's cheaper and safer.

When it comes to .COM's it's impossible to beat namesilo

Hello buddy!
I had a great experience with domains of GoDaddy I never got any problem with them.
Now, I am using domains of Flippa that are working more accurately.

When godaddy is compared with namecheap., i could see some good reviews on namecheap side than that of godaddy. But as i mentioned you earlier it doesn't matter where you but the domain name.
