Where to buy email lists?

Hey, I want to test some mass email sending and would like to know if it's something worth a try or is that just a scam so people will purchase those email databases?

I've found some websites selling emails but I felt that I must ask someone who knows, are those emails are real or are these just scams?

The main reason I wanted to try it out is that sometimes I get affiliate emails from people I've never subscribed to (with no option to unsubscribe, leading to a fishy "make money" website) and this looks like a no brainer

I can't tell you about the two websites you mentioned but in most cases all those mailing lists you can find around the web are outdated or entirely saturated. Another problem in my opinion is that you don't know the audience you try to promote your offers to. You'll definitely get better results if you're building your own list which is actually quite easy to do - it just takes some time:

1) Create a nice looking landing page (check out OptimizePress if you're using wordpress) and offer a useful freebie there (e.g. e-book, coupons, preset-packs for a certain software, free download, video course, etc.)
2) Promote your landing page in facebook groups. People love free stuff and if the content seems useful to them they'll sign up. Don't be spammy here - make your posts look legit like "Hey guys, I found this website where you can get a free ebook that will show you how to be better at XYZ"
3) Try to get at least their first name too. It's good to have that data because you can create personalized email subjects lines or headlines. This is going to boost your opening rate and further your conversion rate.

E-Mail marketing is all about the data quality in my opinion. A solid list with 10k subscribers can make you more money than a junk list with 70k adresses in it from what I've experienced.
