Im a graphic designer, I tried running Google Ads for 1 month for a total of $1000 and didn't get a single client out of it. All my clients come from word of mouth but I would like to get even more clients (don't we all?). I tried Google Ads for a month and after I've spent $1000 I didn't get any emails or phone calls. Not even "just wondering" phone calls.

This makes me believe that perhaps advertising on Google Ads (text search) isn't the best option.

Any idea where else I could try?

Thank you everyone!

use banner ads and video ads on youtube, also facebook, pinterest and taboola are great alternative of adwords

Use banner ads.,
Act more like a branding firm...I mean presentation
Use social sites
Cold mailing as well as direct contact are good too

Google ads is not cool for services like this except you are in a big their one city with high population

Freelance platform will do you a lot of good...especially with a good portfolio

Hello :)

This will be the stupidest question of 2021.

But what are, "Banners Ads" ? Do you mean finding out websites that target my demographic and show ads there, or are they like Google Campaign Ads or something?

The business model and structure of pricing is more important than the technicality of ads.

Google ads work great if you know the search intent and how the plateform really works, I would recommend you to stick to it and test, don't jump to something else because all networks are not profitable the first time you try.

You could try linkedin ads (they give some amount of free credits from what I remember), barely worked for me but works great for certain businesses.
