From my research it seems as if drupal is the logical CMS choice out of the big three (wp,dupal, joomla). However, it does not seem like anyone on this forum uses it? Can anyone explain why?

Also, can anyone convince me to use wordpress? I dislike it because all the themes I have come across make my site look like a blog rather than an actual web site. Is there anyway to use wordpress and avoid the blog-ish look?

I personally use Drupal for all of my websites. Most people probably prefer using Wordpress because there are so many add-ons and themes readily available. Plus it's a lot easier for people to learn it. Drupal has a steep learning curve but once you get comfortable with it you will enjoy it.

Interesting thought, I myself will be using drupal as well pressflow edition it is a harder learning curve but way more powerful CMS. I made a high performance OpenVZ VM that is in alpha right now but it has installed , apache2-mpm worker not prefork, PHP fcgid, Mysql somewhat optimized, memcached, plus varnish, and of course pressflow.

System currently configured is using about 1GB of ram on Clubuptime Budget VPS. Ran an apache bench test this morning on it 1000 with 100 concurent it completed in like 1.47 seconds or something like that. I also ran another test 10000 requests at 100 concurent completed in like 11.4 seconds or something like that. Now that is power! All tests were run on the frontpage of the site, also other testing is always good don't only rely on apache bench. I will be posting a link to the OpenVZ template once I have finished my testing process or just message me and I will send you a link as soon as I can.

I am still new to Drupal myself and have not actually learned the interface very well yet, but I will be working on learning it in the next couple of months.
