Let's say that in the (near)future I have a product that I'm ready to sell, but I'm not trying to sell it to BHW members, instead I'm trying to find affiliates to help me sell the product, where would said thread belong? I created a post trying to gather affiliates about a month ago for release and the thread was removed by a moderator and I was infracted for attempting to sell the product outside of the marketplace.

However, I wasn't trying to sell the product, I was looking for people to help sell it.

    Where would this thread belong?

The reason for the infraction was that you were trying to generate revenue from a post/thread here without paying the owners their fair share... anything that is posted to make us, the guests/members money, is one where the owner, who has expenses related to this venture, should get a share or some kind of revenue.

Your best bet to find this answer and not have an issue in the future is to ask the Mod that gave you the infraction via a PM. That will keep everything clean and you out of any trouble.

Affiliate threads belong in the affiliates section, simple.

However you want to spin it, paying people to sell your product makes them an affiliate.

    Cheers.

I did ask him, but he never replied. You said "Without paying the owners their fair share", what exactly do you mean? If I am the owner of the product, I created it, it's mine, I own the website and everything, doesn't that make me the "owner"?

By fair share I mean that if one is posting here to earn, then something needs to go to the owner of the site. For instance if it is a Marketplace thread, you pay a set fee of 30.00.

To garner affiliates the numbers are different but there is a fee to the owner.

Yes, you own the product/website but you are looking to earn from it, and using BHW as a medium to garner affiliates to sell it. That causes a "you post for affiliates to make you money, you pay the owner of the site for the privilege" action.

Mr. Apricot gave you the place to post above though and perhaps that will help you out some. The guidelines to post there are as follows:

Guidelines for Posting and Receiving Approval
    For Your Marketplace Thread:

You must have Jr. VIP status.
You must be free from bans and infractions (subject to moderator approval).
Your product/service must comply with all BHW rules, including but not limited to, no forums, no coaching, no illegal services. Check the rules before deciding on a thread.
Your thread should include clear contact and refund policies.
Your product and service must be of quality and priced reasonably. BHW staff will be the sole arbiters of this.

it is not reasonable to think you can come here and promote something and make money
from its users without the forum also making money for being able to.
why do u think most people here have BLUE names, blue name means payed member allowed
to sell promote his/her products......we make $ the forum owners make $
    thats how it should be

Good attitude coming out to ask about your mistake and how to improve IMO. Shows you're not here to churn n burn your account.

First thing you need to do is hire an affiliate network to promote your product for you, let them handle the marketing. Then you can become Jr VIP and promote your affiliate banner on your link.

Simple as that. The rules here are made to help, not to hurt. The reason newbies can't be allowed to post whatever they want is this forum would become 100% spam overnight.
