thanks for the insight.

i take it that you like it much better now then before, lol

Well, Gts6, things were bad, very bad.

Nearly the only rights soviet people had were rights to work
for Soviet Union for small money. Actually they had no rights
not to work; if they didn't work they were parasites. There
were no such things as private companies, shops or even taxies
in the USSR. The shops were almost empty and vodka, if available,
was cheap. We had heard the word "business", but didn't use it.

Yes, Gts6, there are still people who like socialism very much
in Latvia. They mainly are old Russians flooded in Latvia after
the World War II. After the reoccupation of Latvia in 1944 they
were heroes (we won the war!). They got good jobs, good salaries
and flats in Riga - the capital of Latvia (our Riga is nice, but
there are too many Latvians in it!).

Now, when Soviet Army has gone, they are not heroes anymore. They
are just the occupants that even cannot speak Latvian because they
didn't like to learn it (we won the war!). Actually nobody cares who
won the war, Russians or Germans. The bad thing is that both cases
lead to occupation of Latvia. Therefore the occupants are screaming,
"We want Soviet Union and Red Army back; we want to be heroes again."

But, Gts6, things are going better and better! Look, even I'm looking
at Internet business!
