Where do you keep your money?

I have a safe, where I keep my socks. Its a simple trick to confuse the enemy, that my grandma taught me.
Her original method was to keep the money in her bra, but since they don't sell bras for my size... I twisted the method somewhat and put all my moneys in the bank.

I live in a city with crime so the front pocket is best.

Hope this helps. :D

btw, if you meant more than pocket money you should specify how much is to be stored and for how long.

"Where to keep money" is more accurately "what basket of places" to store one's property.

If you can, put in a credit union (up to $15,000). CUs are MUCH more reasonable on fees and terms as a conventional place to park money than are commercial banks, and probably won't pull a Cyprus on you.

It's okay to get a reloadable debit card/bank account (Rushcard, ACE Elite, AccountNow et al) or two for your own secondary liquid purposes (linking to Paypal, etc). You can get a version of each of the above brands that doesn't charge a monthly fee.

One anonymous debit card/bank account, such as the $150+ types offered on the web, can provide an exta layer of 'no-SSN' privacy and liquid insurance in a conventional banking context.

LR, WM, Bitcoin, Litecoin et al alternative currencies, especially LR (for pocket money) and BTC (for bigger sums) , for those needing privacy and appreciation longer term.

Precious metals and real estate, for a more illiquid but stable wealth holding vehicle. Where possible, hold gold/silver directly, not through third parties (governments are known to raid bank boxes, for example). Hold real property optimally by putting them in a trust with multiple benefical interests upon acquisition (courts have found real property converted to personal property in this fashion are not subject to liens).

not so sure... See what is happening in Spain right now, properties are selling for nothing since the crash (when they sell...). All the people who invest in real estate there are done now...

So my advice, invest in your belly, buy foods and eat as much as you can :)

Good point, I should have said invest "smartly" in real estate :)

Depends on a country, if you live in a second world country you shouldn't keep your moneys in a bank.

Things are kind of bad here in my country right now so I don't trust banks, and I don't keep most of my money there. I think of creative hiding places between my apartment and my mother's, lol... Things are not good.

Banks,
Here In India,Banks Are Most Trusted And Well Seen By The Government.

But Recently Some Complaints Are Aroused Against The Major Banks here,Saying that they are doing money laundering, which is a crime, that's not good at all.But have confidence that this issue will be sorted out soon.

I keep my money in my bank and under my bed lol, just because I like the sight of seeing dollars lying there lol.

Chile International Banking - Investing in this beautiful country will also get you citizenship and a passport if you apply for them..

Have not read about the Cyprus situation as of yet, however it sounds like the US FDIC. Only insured to 100k, then you need to open another account.
Although my opinion is that is quite risky to keep your all money in a bank don't forget that what happen in Cyprus had to do ONLY with bank accounts with more than 100000 Euros in cash and they don't loose all they money just a small percentage (on the other way the last 5-6 years the banks in Cyprus offer rates up to 5-6% every year - this rate was extremely high for Euro).
All the people with bank accounts with less than 100000 Euros doesn't loose a penny!

Investing in property or in short-term deposits. In our country we have a flat rate of 19%.

LISTEN HERE FOLKS!!!!! THIS IS A METHOD THAT WILL SOON BE SATURATED!!!!!

1. First I would buy a piece of shit land that no one wants.... or you can do this in your back yard.

2. Dig yourself a simple hole or an elaborate bat cave.

3. Put the money in the Cave/Hole

4. Bury it.

5. Electric fence that shit in.

Spoon fed method to hide your money.

Are you kidding me? I don't have any money. Or at least thats what I told the IRS :D

lol invite me to your bedroom :D

Btw i just do Fixed Deposit in local private bank.

That's EXACTLY when to buy gold. When it goes down, not the other way around. Would you rather buy cheaper gold, or more expensive gold?

I say try to get as much gold/silver/properties as you , even if they lose value, they lose value in proportion to the value of the money you used to buy it in. 1oz of gold will always be 1oz of gold, whereas a dollar today, isn't a dollar tomorrow.

Not in papal, as recently came to my knowledge that papal is for safekeeping monkeys.:D
For the money I have now, a bank account does the trick. But I hope that it won't take long to have the OP's "problem" of not knowing where to keep the money!
