The trouble with offering only $1 an article is that you're going to end up with content that you need to spend time working on yourself to raise to an acceptable level.
There are plenty of people on DP who will write 300 or so words for $1, but unless you value your own time at only $1 an hour (because lets face it you will have to do a lot of corrections), then you're better off paying a reasonable amount.

you get what u pay for bro, if u want articles written by english writers let me know.the price might be higher, but its the best unique content u will find on the net

if u want cheap, reliable, and trustworthy, hire filipino writers (mostly found in GAF).. offer them like 2-2.5usd per 500words article.. they are good writers and have fast turn around time..
I found a writer on Elance. I've tried $5 articles before and although some people get the grammer right the content is still junk. The only way I've found decent content is by buying PLR articles and having a more expensive writer manually rewrite them for $5/article or so.
I'd love to know where I could get high quality content for $5/article. I just don't think it exists. From what I've seen high quality is $10+ per article.

I have a write who charges $1 for 100 words. Provides a good quality writing but it took me almost 6 months to find this guy. You have to try everyone possible and finally stick to one you find best.

Looking at these prices, I could probably start my own business and write myself. Like $5+ per article? I can do one in 45 minutes of sitting on my ass. I am 100% English and born in a native English country.

I said sitting on my ass. The job I have now is far from on my ass. Starts at 7 am. That's wake up at 6 am. I do things like clean washrooms for a few hours and other terrible tasks. Someone shit in the urinal? Oh, that's my job to pick it out.
For the extra $3 per hour, it's not worth it. I am sorry.

You have 1534 posts on such a forum with loads of great info and still cleaning toilets? Then do it, yes 5$ per 500 word article is very achievable (its even on the lower end) for native English speaking writer.
