Where do you find reliable Developers to code your bots?

I've been searching for a reliable developer to code me some custom bots for sometime now. I tried Fiverr and none seem to be able to do what I want. And alot of times you get this sense that they just want to deliever mediocre woek just so to get paid as soon as possible.

Currently at a lost so decided to ask you guys how you find reliable developers because it seems they are pretty hard to find someone reliable.

At first hand, if you have some budget to work with search Staff Augmentation and go down that rabbit hole. Just make sure they've mentioned the term pre-vetted/vetted somewhere in their website.

On the other hand, you have to experiment with Upwork. You might find some hidden gems in it.
 
If it's not very difficult and niche is really good then I would just take month or two to learn basics of let's say Python. Risk of underpaid/unknown developer stealing your bot is too huge.
 
on fiverr you wont have much luck finding a good programmer. its mostly hobby programmers there.
you can post here in the "hire a freelancer" section. i mean there are also lots of hobby programmers here, but also a handful proper coders ;)

What i need is more complicated and will need to take courses to learn how to do.

For a programmer to deliver good code they'll need experience. A programmer with good knowledge of web technologies, automation and Python will land a high-paying job easily. Therefore the question to you is, are you hiring people at a competitive hourly rate?

If you're not hiring hourly then there's no incentive for a person to deliver a well thought out and documented product because why? You will pay $3000 whether the code is a mess or not.

Secondly, when hiring hourly you will have to accept that you're either paying well or playing roulette. There are people who will deliver great code while being underpaid being none the wiser but there are very few of them. Offering a cut of your business is also a solution but then you're facing different problems.

I prefer to pay a fix amount per project not hourly
 
From experience I managed to make a few connections with talented developers that I can count on to help me with the projects I work on, I met most of them in seminars and others from LinkedIn and Upwork.
Edit: I wouldn't count on Fiverr for this.

Do you pay them hourly or fixed?
 
Post a HAF thread and you can find some good bot developers here on BHW.
I for example always accept fixed prices for bot development on BHW but on UpWork and others I always prefer hourly payments.
 
Like others said, if you can't learn coding don't use Fiverr and it's better to pay more than to struggle with uneducated people who scam you. Also if you see someone claiming to be from US and they start/end EVERY sentence with "sir" it means they lie and it's not worth to work with them.
