Where am I best to find GOOD relatively cheap article writers, and how much should I pay for an article??

all the good ones are busy, and all the other ones reply to your hire a freelancer thread faster than lightning, so yes, its pretty hard to find good content writers.

try odesk... a 500-word article should cost you around $6.

Usually you get what you pay for. A good, PROPER English content costs 3 bucks per 100 words, or something in that direction.

If it's for a generic site adsense or so, it's ok to use a bit crappier content, but for sites that have to make the reader to fully trust what's being said, just pay for good content and it'll pay itself off in time in commissions.

Unfortunately there's no shortcut here in my opinion at least...

edit: forgot the actual question of op.. I get mine always just from forums, the major IM forums all have a lot of very talented writers, but they don't come cheap.

I agree with Lizmoz. The really good writers charge a premium for their work because they know the value of it. I have a guy that is a writer for several magazines and does beautiful content. 50 bucks for a 600 word article.

He's pricey but the content is very compelling.

Of course this is the best place to get article writers ....Other sources would be elance or odesk to get quality writers. I pay $ 4 to 5 depending / 500 words article. You need to check the quality before you can quote any amount.

I've had some good luck over at Odesk but had to weed out the junk writers.

Helps to start off with a group of writers (I started with 5) hired for a month. Only keep the top one(s)

As bad as it may sound, I've found my two main article writers at DP. Both great writers, native English speakers. $1.50/100 words. Well worth it in my opinion.
