Where do I get backlinks?

Small problem: I am running a blog that is showing the side effects of a product when taken so I do not have any blogs or anything of that nature to get backlinks from. I do have Scrapebox though.

How would I go about doing backlinks If there are no blogs or forums dedicated to what I am doing? Should I be getting backlinks from any blogs that are ********?

I don't know what the experts have to say about this because I am still pretty new to this stuff, but in my opinion, a backlink is a backlink. I will take one where I can get one.

^ That is what I am thinking. I mean - ANYONE can get backlinks for any website. I'm just asking since there is no content for my website (I am sure you or someone else has a website with things such as "Side Effects Of Snorting Cocaine") but don't have any backlinks for such a topic.

I have so far found that relevance has made no difference to my rankings, but I only own a few sites, i'm no huge expert

A link is a link, just use the proper anchor text.

In case you still want to get links from relevant sites, you can do so by posting on blogs/forums related to your niche. You don't have to look for pages with the same keywords.
You can always check for related keywords by using Google wonder wheel.

have you had much success with finding free backlinks - or are you mostly going for paid services and such?

I just bought 15K from LinkPlow for $55. First time ever buying links but I am aiming to do free ones as well. If the 15K do anything, ill definitely be buying paid ones more.

how is it that you have no knowledge of backlinks but found yourself in an advanced

Like seriously where are all of you coming from. We have had such an influx of noobs
over the past couple of months. and I dont mean noob as in post count or new to this
forum.

I mean noob in the sense that you dont know what a backlink is and you dont know what
IM is. And they all seem to come here and skip over all the noob learning steps
and just go straight for this forum..

I really suggest that you learn the basics instead of just jumping on this forum
because it will eat you alive.

oh and to answer your question. You can get backlinks from everywhere. although it
is better to have higher quality backlinks related to your site it is not needed.
These type of backlink will require fewer to rank as opposed to just random links
with no link juice

A backlink is backlink ...true , but a quality backlink is always better , and since you have no blogs in your niche ,which I really doubt , one one can stop stop you from using linkwheels and web2 proprieties
