I guess you are a young lady in your 20's ... We all grown ups had multiples crushes in our 20's ... It is just a part of growing up and do not be heartbroken. He is in a relationship with someone successful ? Successful based on what ? Don't worry about it and do not now go looking for the next crush , let it come to you and when it does , then take things slowly , do not rush. Just overall focus on your learning ( and education ) and hang around with good friends as well , play some sports , read books , when it rains go for a few minutes out in the rain and play ... There's a time to grieve for things that are lost, and I think it's that process that shows the love you have for something (or someone), which keeps your heart tender.
In my experience and observation, sorrow puts you in a state where you can sort-of thresh-out an equation for the situation you are trying to process.
One of the best things we can do is be honest about it.
I think a lot of people harden their hearts, and sort-of recite self-delusions, thinking that will make them feel better about things, or allow them to cope.
Huge mistake... because it's imperative to remain tender and transparent and honest, or things can go undealt with for a long time.
You can have feelings about things for years, but that doesn't mean it has to cripple your life.
Some things that happen to us, or mistakes that we make ourselves, may never be reconcilable, but that doesn't mean we have to be miserable because of them.
There are some things in our control, and many things outside of our control.
All you can do is look to the path that is set before you, and continue pursuing good things.
Another saying I recall, says: "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning."
I am sorry to hear about your broken heart, but make sure you get some rest, take care of yourself, have a good cry, and after a season you will find relief and refreshment.
