Where did you start learning SEO from?

Thanks smartalex. Take this for learning and strategy also. Most useful for it. But it's my suggest you can learn content marketing also. Because today's trend "Content Marketing" more than SEO right now.

The best way to start is to take action. Read through the forum and through many of the links posted in this thread. Once you have the basics down, try ranking some of your own sites for fun. Take notes on what worked for you and do some analysis on what didn't work. Soon enough, you will be selling services here! Seriously though, information overload can have you reading these forums day and night with no results. Learn a little and start testing! Otherwise, you will have retained all of the knowledge, but have no practical experience to find success.
 
by reading alot on bhw,blogs etc and learned a lot when got something to achieve in seo ;)
 
I started on Digital Point :). Then I came here. Also learned a bit from experience.
 
From My Granny.

I was 9 years old at the time, granny told me everything, like one day yahoo will go to hell, and a new web directory will conquer the internet world (Google), and there must be some way to connect websites together (Backlinks), than she started talking about spamming, ddos attacks, computational algorithms, math theorems, and God knows what else. I was a kid back then so didn't give a rats ass about SEO and computers, years have past and now when i look back i always remember my granny she says :

"With Great Power Come's Great Responsibility".

So Here i am fucking up Search Engines By Spam.
 
My friend started by teaching me what he knew. Then I started looking online for different articles and forums and such. Still do not know it all but hey, I know a lot more than when I first started.
 
You can start learning SEO through SEO Moz Beginners SEO learning guide and follow blogs & participate in forums are also good part to learn SEO.

I can't even remember where I started learning SEO, but if you need an advice, I would tell you to stay away from all those crappy ebooks people are releasing now on SEO. Of course there are some good ones - but you won't be able to determine which are worth reading ones at the moment.

So the best thing for you is to read this forum and maybe some other ones. You can find some awesome information there without all this crappy information that people are trying to sell you. Just read as much as you can and try to collect information by bits. That's how I would start learning right now.
 
yes.. he's right recently i read an ebook and it was total crap..
