Where did you learn SEO

Hi, which programing language should I learn to be a pro in SEO?

The only way to learn SEO and IM is by doing. Learn all the theory you want, but that confidence won't come until you've done months of actual work and seen results for yourself.

Don't be afraid to fail - try everything.

Very true.
You can read about how to all you want, but until you have a decent amount of work put in, you just cannot see the big picture.

For a long time I focused on pushing a single site through the serps. Over time the network of support sites and backlinking pages greatly increased and has become somewhat like a "radar" and lets me see a lot quicker what is going on with the algo.

It also helped me to develop systems for getting the job done much more quickly, and to fine tune things to get the best results.

One of the best things I have learned about SEO is that not very much goes to waste if you can track it.

Hhmmm, if I'm honest I'd say I'm still learning, but that goes for most things in life anyway.. Anyway, I learned from talking to other people on forums, a bit, and tinkering and testing and tracking a LOT.

If there was one tip I could give people getting into SEO now, it'd be tinker with your own sites, and track everything you can. See what does what, and by how much. Learn by doing.

i learned seo from my job but only the link buying aspect of it. i know i need to learn more so i look for seo blogs, join seo forums and read seo books. but still, experience is the best teacher, i guess.

Theorize
Test
Analyze
Refine
Repeat

The 5 words at the core of SEO.

Couldn't agree more. I've learned SEO for a while before but never have the guts to try to rank a website until March 2010. I used the knowledge that i gained here and from other forums, hire freelancers (most of them are from BHW also) to do my SEO work and after only a few weeks my sites have ranked well for a few keywords.

Cheers.

Learning never ends in this ball game. Keep learning and keep working, thats the nature of the beast sir..

a few white hat forums that are probably the lex luthor to the bhw super dojo; and experimenting on beta sites.
