My official hosting is hostwinds, but I have a php script I'm running that goes through lists for me, pretty simple stuff but the script will take hours (huge list) and hostwinds is set to timeout scripts after 5 minutes and send a 500 internal error message.

I did and they weren't really helpful, they told me to contact the owner of the script about it's compatibility

Separate the hosting and the script hosting.

The most unreliable but cheapest solution:
    1. Run the script on your home PC and store results in database
    2. Setup master-slave database replication and replicate the database to the web host

The reliable and cheapest short term solution:
    1. Run the script on Amazon AWS (free of charge for the 1st year) and store the results in the database
    2. Same as above

The reliable and cheapest long term solution:
    1. Run the script on Digital Ocean and store the results in the database
    2. Same as above

    What is your ticket #??

I think your best bet would be to get a budget VPS ($7 a month)

and run the script on there, we can even help to set it all up for you. Since you are an existing client, I will even discount it to $5 a month for ya. Please just shoot me a PM with you ticket #

First, optimize your PHP script (MySQL db too if you're using one) & get a VPS. If this is a one time thing, go for DigitalOcean (look for a $10 or $25 coupon) or Linode & spin a box for a day or two, it will be less than a buck. If you have some experience with VPSs & you don't need a dedicated IP address go for a NAT VPS, it's cheap and really usefull. It won't cost you more than $5/YEAR for a good 512mb RAM & that's more than enough if you're the only one running the script (it can be done on a 64mb box ;)).
