I've never dealt with him personally but Hope it's not another scam, but IMO give it another 2-3 days, before taking any serious step.

May be he got into some problem or something? Try emailing him if you have his contact.

If a person is offline for 16 or 20 hours, I don't think its enough time to put a label on anyone, especially if the reasons for being away are very important in everyday life.
